In 1931 the Emery Gold Mining and Water Company donated the lot where the Town Hall now stands to the citizens of the Mountain Ranch Area. Five trustees were appointed to be responsible for the lot and building on it. Provisions were made for replacements when the original trustees were no longer able to serve. They have no treasury and no regular meetings but are the owners of record, and are ultimately responsible for the hall. The present trustees are Luellen Del Papa, George Stepp, Hugh Strehle, Phil Alberts, and Nola Johnson.
The MOUNTAIN RANCH COMMUNITY CLUB was organized to build and maintain a town hall. People from previous generations have spent much effort and money, even when times were tough, to bring the hall to its present condition. We present residents of Mountain Ranch would not recognize most of their names, but they left us a gift. We honor them with our continued support.
In 1977 the Community Club leased land from the Calaveras Unified School District to build, maintain, and manage Mountain Ranch Park.
MOUNTAIN RANCH
COMMUNITY CLUB is a non-profit charitable and social organization dedicated to
the betterment of our community. We are
a friendly group and invite everyone to join with us. We welcome you as a
volunteer for various worthwhile activities or simply to enjoy your company as
a neighbor. If you are interested in
joining, please check our membership page or just
show up at our next monthly meeting and potluck
dinner.
No tax dollars are used to support either the Town Hall or the Park. In addition to membership dues and voluntary
donations of labor or money, we rely on various special events both for fun and
for fundraisers. Please get involved in your community. We're looking forward
to seeing you there!
